Hexoloy® and Norbide® Nozzles
Saint-Gobain Ceramics offers a choice of ceramic materials that can help reduce downtime in demanding nozzle applications. Hexoloy® SiC is the most popular alternative in the world to tungsten carbide. It provides long life (50% over WC) due to excellent wear and corrosion resistance.
Norbide® Boron Carbide - one of the hardest materials known - also delivers excellent wear and abrasion resistance for longer service life. Nozzles can be provided jacketed or non-jacketed.
Applications
- Abrasives for polishing and lapping
- Wear resistant components pumping, water jet cutters, etc.
- Dressing and forming sticks
- Ballistic armor tiles
- Nozzles for grit blasting slurry
Material Characteristics
- Extreme hardness for wear and abrasion resistance
- High elastic modulus
- Good electrical resistivity
- Non-porous surface won’t react with lubricants and other chemicals
- Near theoretical density for longer life
